At least four individuals face multiple drug offenses following a raid in Bradyville by the Cannon County Sheriff's Department.

Arrested were Daniel Glen Myers, Darcy Simpson, Benjamin Poteet and Terry Wayne Morton. They were charged with possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. Myers, Simpson and Morton were also charged with possession of a fire arm.

Officers, accompanied by representatives of the National Guard Counter Drug Task Force, raided a home at 10342 Jim Cummings Highway in Bradyville.
"I had started an investigation into this location and its habitants around one month ago after receiving information that drug activity was taking place along with the male subject that lives at this residence being a convicted felon in possession of firearms," said Investigator Brandon Gullett.

Gullett learned that the home was owned by Daniel Glen Myers and Nicole Foster, Myers' wife.

"I had Cannon County Dispatch run a criminal history on both, which revealed that Daniel Glen Myers is a multi-convicted felon," Gullett said. His offenses include weapon violations, narcotic violations and even bank robbery. "I was able to find that Nicole Foster has prior narcotic violations out of state," the inspector continued.

"My investigation revealed that Daniel Myers was selling and using methamphetamine from this residence and also that Daniel Glen Myers was allowing other subjects to use and sell narcotics out of his residence," Gullett said.

On Oct. 20, Gullett obtained a search warrant for Myers' home and discovered him "in possession of a loaded Winchester shotgun and drug paraphernalia." Myers was arrested and taken to the Cannon County Jail where he was able to bond out and return home the same day.

Meanwhile, Gullett and the Cannon County Sheriff's Department continued its investigation, learning that Myers had installed a new surveillance system to warn him of police in the area.

On Oct. 28, Gullett obtained a second search warrant for Myers' home. Joining Gullett in the raid were Sheriff Darrell Young, Assistant Chief Anthony Young, Investigator Chris Brown and Deputies Andrew Colwell, Kyle Wix and Shannon Edwards. They were joined by two agents of the National Guard Counter Drug unit.

"I along with Investigator Brown and Deputy Kyle Wix went to the rear door as Sheriff Young and Chief Deputy Young hit the front door," Gullett said.

Myers was spotted looking out the rear door and then dashing through the house. Gullett apprehended him attempting to enter a closet. Discovered in the closet was a small brown box containing a small Browning .25-caliber pistol.

Three of the suspects were discovered in the garage while Myers' wife was found in the master bedroom. All were taken into custody and removed from the house. A wide variety of drugs were discovered in the home. In the garage a black case contained "a large quantity of methamphetamine, marijuana and assorted pills." A baggie containing a brown substance that was tested to be heroin.

$1,358 in cash was also seized.
