Lyle Cates Harvey will join acupuncturist Lisa Klieger at the clinic. Harvey is a licensed acupuncturist and a certified Chinese medicine herbalist. Klieger has been offering acupuncture and holistic health care to the middle Tennessee community for five years and welcomes Harvey to the practice. Harvey is a native of Atlanta and looks forward to continuing her passion for helping people achieve health in Woodbury.
Harvey received her first acupuncture treatment 10 years ago and discovered her life's work. After being introduced to the benefits of acupuncture, she went on to study acupuncture and East Asian medicine at the Seattle Institute of Oriental Medicine and received a Masters of Science in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. Harvey was trained in Chinese and Japanese styles of acupuncture, herabl medicine, Tuina orthopedic massage as well as nutritional counseling. She even spent some time in Beijing, China during her undergraduate work at Wellesley College to learn Mandarin Chinese! Harvey has national and state certifications in acupuncture.
Harvey spent three years as an intern at Dr. Kerong Xie's office, a well-known Chinese medicine doctor in Seattle specializing in fertility and women's healthy. Harvey also has completed DONA-approved training as a Birth Doula in addition to specialized training in using acupuncture in labor and delivery to ease pain and prevent complications. The strong focus on her practice is women's healthy, fertility, pregnancy and post-partum care, but she welcomes all to her clinic and finds joy in helping people from all walks of life to find wellness and balance.
The World Health Organization (WHO) published a report stating that acupuncture is a safe and effective treatment for a wide range of conditions, including pain, fatigue, digestive and respiratory problems, insomnia, anxiety, depression, Migraine headaches, high blood pressure, hormone imbalances, addictions and more.
Harvey recently moved to the area with her husband, Sam Harvey - a Middle Tennessee native. Her parents-in-law are Rob and Nora Harvey in Dowelltown, Tenn. Coomes Chiropractic is located at 313 West Main Street in Woodbury.
