Mr. Harold Harrington, 70, of Beaverton, Michigan passed away on June 19, 2017 after an extended illness. He was born on August 18, 1946 in Clio, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley Harrington and Marguerite Babcock Harrington; a step-son, Ricky Abel; a brother, Orland Harrington; a sister, Gayle Congdon; and his best friend and hunting partner, Henry Garza.

He is survived by his wife, Cathy Harrington; son, Tony (Carline) Harrington; step-sons, Mike Moore and John Moore all of Michigan; step-daughter, Christy (Ray) Hunt of Woodbury; great granddaughter, Chloe Byrd who resided with Harold and Cathy most of her life; brother, Keven Harrington; sisters, Stannie Tobias, Vic Cummings, Karen Harrington, Melodie Baird, and Tanis Hetzer all of Michigan; sister-in-law, Virginia Harrington; grandchildren, Amanda Byrd, Camri (Jason) Cole, Skye (fiancé, Skylar Meeks) Hunt, Sarah (fiancé, Tyler Cook) Hunt, Faith Hunt, Amber Hunt and Ryan Moore; great grandchildren, Jaylin, Roman, Landon, and Kaceton; and many other family members.

Mr. Harold grew up in Clio and graduated high school there. Following graduation, he joined the Army and served his country during the Vietnam War. After leaving the Army he went to work for the Buick-GM plant in Flint, Michigan. He retired with 31 years on the job. He was an active supporter of the UAW Local 599. In his free-time he loved to hunt, fish, and work on cars. He enjoyed watching tv shows, such as, The Red Green Show, Last Frontier, MASH, and American Pickers. When they could he enjoyed traveling with his family going to all kinds of places like the Rocky Mountains and Disney World. He liked to go camping and would tell stories around the campfire. He was a member of the Church of God. One of his favorite sayings was "don't do today what you can put off until tomorrow". He and Cathy would have celebrated their 21st anniversary on Monday. Over the last several years his health declined. Cathy and Chloe were there to help him and keep him going.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 from 5-7 pm at Smith Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 7pm in the Smith Funeral Home chapel. He will be recognized for his military service with Military Funeral Honors. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to assist the family with expenses. Contact Smith Funeral Home for details.
