Guns, Chainsaw Reported Stolen

Cannon County Sheriff's Officer Doc Smith was dispatched to 1279 Toy Denny Road on March 23 to take a theft report. Upon arrival he spoke with Christy Dawn Jones and her father, Randall Eugene Perry.

Perry stated his son-in-law had broken into his home. Items reported stolen from the residence included two firearms, a rifle and a shotgun, and a yellow chainsaw.

Officer Smith interviewed a neighbor, who stated Troy Gibson came to his residence and sold him a yellow chainsaw for $10.

Total value of the guns and chainsaw is estimated at over $400.

Gibson and Eugenia Keisling have been identified as persons of interest in the case. Both are scheduled to appear in Cannon County General Sessions Court Tuesday on unrelated charges.

• Hugh Anderson Holliman, 450-A East State St., Murfreesboro, was arrested March 26 on a charge of conveyed rental property. Holliman allegedly did not return a carpet cleaner he rented from ACE Hardware on Sept. 27, 1010. Bond was set at $500. Initial court date is May 10.

• Thomas Moore went to the sheriff's department on March 22 to report a missing check. He told Deputy Travis Turney he turned in scrap cooper at Ivy Bluff Auto Salvage on March 16 and received a receipt for $60.80.  Moore said he had waited for a check and had not received one, although Ivy Bluff Auto Salvage said the check had already been mailed. Moore said he thought it had been stolen from his mailbox. He also said the check had not cleared the bank.
