Guilty Pleas Entered In Circuit Court



Judge Don Ash presided over Cannon County Circuit Court on Thursday, May 24. Following are the results of some of the cases on the docket:

• Jason C. Brockman pled guilty to one count of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor. Thousands of images of children engaging in sexual activities were found on a computer owned by Brockman following an investigation by the Cannon County Sheriff's Department and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. Brockman was ordered to serve 8 years in state prison and must serve the entire sentence. He must also pay the state's $150 sexual offender tax and register as a sex offender.

• Donald T. Hollis pled guilty to DUI 8th Offense. He received a 4-year partially suspended sentence, 6 months in jail, 4 years state supervised probation, a $3,000 fine and was assessed court costs. Hollis also pled guilty to evading arrest. He received a 6-year partially suspended sentence, 6 months in jail, 6 years state supervised probation and court costs. He also pled guilty to Driving While a Habitual Motor Vehicle Offense and received a 4-year suspended sentence, 6 months in jail, 4 years probation and was assessed court costs. The sentences will run concurrent. Hollis also had his driver’s license revoked for 8 years.

• Darris Cooke pled guilty to DUI. He was given a partially suspended sentence of 11 months, 29 days and was ordered to serve 48 hours in the county jail. He was placed on probation for an equal amount of time, fined $350, assessed court costs, pay restitution to the owner of the vehicle he hit, performed 24 hours community service and his license was revoked for one year.

• William K. Bryant pled guilty to Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon. He was given a 2-year suspended sentence, equal time on probation, and was ordered to forfeit the weapon.

• Dustin Mayo pled guilty to one count of Aggravated Burglary and two counts of Auto Burglary. He received total sentences of 8 years (two concurrent), was ordered to serve 6 months in jail, and was placed on Community Corrections for 8 years. He was also ordered to pay court costs and restitution.

• Kyle Ortkiese pled guilty to four counts of Auto Burgarly. He received 2-year sentences on each count and was ordered to pay restitution and court costs. He was placed on state supervised probation for a total of 4 years. Ortkiese also pled guilty to Theft Under $500 and to Evading Arrest and received suspended sentences of 11 months, 29 days and equal time on probation on both counts. He was also ordered to pay court costs.

• Mario A. Gregory pled guilty to Driving While A Habitual Motor Vehicle Offender. He received a 4-year suspended sentence and equal time on probation.

• Jennifer D. Woodlee pled guilty to Violation of Probation. She was ordered to serve one day in jail and her probation was extended for 11 months, 28 days. Woodlee is facing a similar charge in Warren County.

• William Holt pled guilty to Violation of Probation. He was ordered to serve his original 1-year sentence.

• James Pendergrast pled guilty to Violation of Probation. He elected to serve out the remainder of his sentence, totaling 90 days, in the county jail.

• Timmy Young pled guilty to Violation of Probation. He was ordered to serve 36 days in jail his original probation period of 4 years was reinstated.

• Robert M. Mason pled guilty to Reckless Driving. He received a 6-month suspended sentence, equal time on state supervised probation, a $500 fine and court costs. He also pled guilty to violation of the Implied Consent law and his license was suspended for one year.

• Tammy Southers pled guilty to Violation of Probation. She was ordered to serve 45 days in jail and her probation was extended for 3 months, 15 days.

• Audria Estes pled guilty to Violation of Probation. She was ordered to serve 30 days in jail and her 2-year original state supervised probation was reinstated. She was also ordered to have no contact with her co-defendant in the original case, John B. Carter.

• John B. Carter pled guilty to Violation of Probation. He was sentenced to 34 days in jail and his 4-year original state supervised probation was reinstated. He was also ordered to have no contact with his co-defendant in the original case, Audria Estes.

• Crystal Brannam pled guilty to Violation of Probation. She was ordered to serve 34 days in jail and she was placed back on state supervised probation for 4 years.

• David B. Young pled guilty to Violation of Probation. He was ordered to serve 38 days in jail. His original 12-year sentence to Community Corrections was reinstated.

• Corey Wayne Ferrell pled guilty to Violation of Probation. He was ordered to serve 41 days in jail and his original sentence of 6 years on state supervised probation was reinstated. He was also ordered to pay restitution to the victim within 90 days.

• Jonathan Johnson pled guilty to Violation of Probation. His judicial diversion for Aggravated Burglary was terminated due to a new charge of DWI, and he was given a 3-year suspended sentence. He was also order to pay restitution to the victim.
