Guilty Pleas Entered For Drugs, DUI, Domestic Assault



Judge Susan Melton presided over Cannon County General Sessions Court on Tuesday, Aug. 2. The results of some of the cases on the docket are as follows:

• Boyce Tyrone Brown pled guilty to DUI 2nd offense. He was given a partially suspended sentence of 11 months, 29 days, placed on probation for an equal amount of time, ordered to served 45 days in the county jail, fined $650, assessed court costs, and will lose his driver’s license for two years.

• Austin Cole Heath pled guilty to possession of drug paraphernalia. He was placed on probation for 11 months, 29 days, fined $250, and ordered to pay court costs and the litigation tax.

• Michael Lynn Adcock pled guilty to public intoxication. He was given a 30-day suspended sentence, fined $25 and assessed court costs.

• Kenneth Franklin Anderson, Jr. pled guilty to driving on a suspended license. He was given a partially suspended sentence of 11 months, 29 days and placed on probation for 10 months, 29 days. He was also ordered to serve 10 days in the county jail. Anderson also pled guilty to violation of probation after failing a drug screen in court. He was ordered to serve 30 days in the county jail and his probation was extended for five months. He was also assessed court costs. His jail sentences and probation periods will run concurrent.

• William Richard Barrett pled guilty to driving without a license. He was given a 30-day suspended sentence, fined $2 and ordered to pay court costs.

• Winford Nile Belcher was charged with fishing without a license. The case was dismissed and he was assessed court costs.

• Samantha Joy Briggs entered into an agreed order of retirement on a charge of disorderly conduct subject to good and lawful conduct and the payment of the litigation tax within 90 days.

• Michael Mason Butcher had a charge of disorderly conduct continued for six months subject to good and lawful conduct. He was ordered to a contact probation services once per month during that period and to pay court costs.

• Renee L. Chapdelaine entered a conditional plea of guilty to the charge of resisting arrest. She was ordered to maintain good and lawful conduct for six months and to pay the litigation tax.

• Alyssa Marie Coleman pled guilty to two counts of domestic assault and one count of shoplifting under $500. One each count she was given a partially suspended sentence of 11 months, 29 days and was placed on probation for 11 months, 6 days. She was also ordered to serve a total of 76 days in the county jail. She was also ordered to attend a domestic violence intervention course and to pay court costs and restitution. Two charges of driving on a suspended license were reset for Nov. 15.

• Bobby Jerome Davenport, Jr. pled guilty to driving on a suspended license. Sentencing date was set for Nov. 1.

• Tylor Blake Fults pled guilty to violation of probation. He was ordered to serve 14 days in the county jail and his probation period was extended for 11 months, 29 days. He was also ordered to pay court costs.

• Sarah Renee Roller Grizzle, charged with driver’s license, financial responsibility and registration laws violations, failed to appear. A Capias was issued for her arrest.

• Chad Everett Haley’s petition for furlough to attend a drug treatment program was denied.

• Christopher Allen Hoover had his petition for suspended sentence request reset for Aug. 9.

• Danny Hugh Kennedy pled guilty to violation of probation. He was ordered to serve 60 days in the county jail, his probation was extended for 3 months, 14 days and he was ordered to pay all court cost, fines and restitution.

• Jonathan Shane Kennedy, charged with driving on a revoked license, failed to appear. A Capias was issued for his arrest.

• Tina Elaine Meador Mullen pled guilty to violation of probation. She was ordered to serve 60 days in the county jail and her probation was extended for 21 months, 10 days. She also pled guilty to violation of an order or protection and was given a suspended sentence of 11 month, 29 days and placed on probation for an equal amount of time. She will serve a total of 4 years on probation. She was ordered to have no contact with the victim, the victim’s family, and to submit to in-patient and out-patient treatment at the VA Hospital.

• Angela H. Meeks pled guilty to facilitation to commit theft under $500. She was given a 6 month suspended sentence, placed on probation for 6 months and order to pay court costs.

• Terri Lynn Ortkiese pled guilty to joyriding. She was placed on probation for 11 months, 29 days and ordered to have no contact with the victim.

• Cody Ray Parsley, charged with driving on a suspended license, failed to appear. A Capias was issued for his arrest.

• Michael Ray Pate, violation of probation (two counts), petition to waive/reduce fees.

• Marlin Christopher Prater, charged with violation of probation and conspiracy to introduce contraband into a penal institution, was appointed the public defender to represent him, assessed a $20 administrative fee, and reset for Aug. 30.

• Kathy K. Ray entered a best interest plea of guilty to a charge of domestic assault. She was placed on probation for 11 months, 29 days, ordered to have no contact with the victim, and assessed court costs.

• Christopher Steven Reed has a disorderly conduct charged retired for 6 months subject to good and lawful conduct.

• James Allen Speed entered a best interest plea of guilty to domestic assault. The case was continued for 11 months, 29 days subject to good and lawful conduct, contacting probation services month and payment of the litigation tax.

• Jacob William Steele, charged with driving on a suspended license, was reset for Nov. 1.

• Carl Stinnett, Jr. pled guilty to driving on a suspended license. He was given a 6 month suspended sentence, fined $50, order to pay court costs and had his license revoked for one year.

• Monti Vallaird Tate, charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and harassment by telephone, was reset for a preliminary hearing on Oct. 4.

• Jason T. Tenpenny entered a conditional plea of guilty to facilitation of theft under $500. He was order to have no contact with the victim and to pay court costs and restitution.

• Franklin Keith Thomas pled guilty to violation of probation. He was ordered to serve 6 days in the county jail and his probation was extended for 11 month, 23 days.

• Pamela Jo Warner entered a conditional plea of guilty to theft over $1,000. The case was continued for 6 months subject to good and lawful conduct.

• Joseph Weldon Warren, charged with vandalism under $500, failed to appear. A Capias was issued for his arrest.

• Amye Michelle Webb entered a conditional plea of guilty to assault. The case was continued for 11 months, 29 days subject to good and lawful conduct and reporting to probation services on a monthly basis.

• Laura Nichole Whitworth entered a conditional plea of guilty to the charges of domestic assault and violation of bond conditions. She was ordered to serve six days in the county jail, pay court costs, have no contact with the victims and attend domestic violence intervention.

• Misty Lisa Winslow pled guilty to violation of probation. She was sentenced to 90 days in jail. Upon release she will be placed back on probation for 7 months.

• Larry Leftwich pled guilty to violation of probation. He was ordered to serve 60 days in the county jail. Under release he will be placed back on probation for 10 months, 21 days. He was also ordered to pay court costs.


• Christopher Anthony Adams, charged with aggravated burglary and theft over $1,000, was reset for Sept. 6.

• Randall Ewing Council, charged with theft under $500 (two counts) and theft over $500, was reset for Aug. 23.

• Jennifer Lee Deese, charged with driving on a suspended license, was reset for Sept. 6.

• Courtne Grayson Elrod, charged with criminal trespass, was reset for Sept. 6.

• Michael Gayle Gann, charged with DUI 2nd offense, was appointed the public defender, assessed an administrative fee of $25, and reset for Sept. 6.

• Timmy Wayne Mount, charged with possession of Schedule II drugs for resale, possession of Schedule III drugs for resale, possession of Schedule VI drugs for resale and fraudulent use of a debit or credit card (two counts), was reset for Sept. 6.

• David Andrew Nettles, charged with aggravated burglary and theft over $1,000, was reset for Sept. 6.

• Randy Wade Holden, charged with DUI 2nd offense and violation of the implied consent law, was reset for Sept. 6.

• Charlie James King, charged with manufacture of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, was reset for Sept. 6.

• Glenn O. Parrish, charged with assault, was reset for Sept. 6.

• Randy Glen Ross, charged with domestic assault, was reset for Sept. 6.

• Dana Lagra Thompson, charged with possession of Schedule II drugs for resale, possession of Schedule III drugs for resale, possession of Schedule VI for resale and violation of the insurance law, was reset for Sept. 6.

• Josh Alan Thrower, charged with driving on a revoked license 2nd offense, was reset for Nov. 1.
