Grand Jury indicts 10

The Cannon County Grand Jury returned indictments against 10 people during the May term on Friday, May 25.

Included among them were:

• Dustin R. Rogers, for evading arrest and driving while license suspended.

• James M. Waycaster, for domestic assault and violation of an order of protection.

• Byron R. Gibbs, for evading arrest with a motor vehicle.

• Trevor A. Lanphere, for contraband in a penal institution.

• Brandon D. Rich, for possession of marijuana, possession of cocaine, DUI, driving while license suspended and violation of the implied consent law.

• Caleb B. Dennis, for aggravated kidnapping and aggravated assault.

• Donald Ray Reeder, for three counts each of sale of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent, maintaining a dwelling and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Sealed indictments were returned against three individuals, whose identity will not be released until they are served.

Those persons indicted by the grand jury will be arraigned on June 7. Plea day has been set for July 5.

Just because someone is indicted does not mean he or she is guilty of any crime. The grand jury process is simply a means of charging someone with a crime, and the grand jury's decisions are based merely on probable cause.
