There is nothing you can do to stop the progress of Mother Nature, but you can equip a young girl with the knowledge she needs for her journey into womanhood.

You and the young girl in your life can learn and have fun together by attending a program called “Girl Talk.”

“Girl Talk” is an educational program designed to enhance communication between pre-teen girls (ages 9-12) and women who care for them. Topics will be about sexuality, family values, decision making and responsibility.

These classes are provided by UT Extension and the Health Department. “Girl Talk” classes will be held on Tuesday nights in October 4, 11, & 18 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the UT Extension, Cannon County Office Downstairs Meeting Room.

Each class is limited to 12 pairs and pre-registration is required.  The cost is $30. To pre-register or for more information about “Girl Talk” call Carla Bush, Family and Consumer Sciences Agent, at the UT Extension, Cannon County Office, cybush@utk.edu or 615-563-2554.
