To celebrate 100 years of Girl Scouting in the United States, on Saturday, April 14 at 3:30 p.m. the Girl Scouts of Service Unit 158 will be burying their time capsule on the Cannon County Courthouse lawn.

The time capsule will be opened in 25 years.

Each of the eight troops contributed an envelope that includes letters from the girls, items from our 100 Year Celebration here in Woodbury, and other items significant to that troop.

The capsule is a 6-inch PVC pipe that is twelve inches long with caps sealed on each end.

We thank Mr. Mike Gannon, County Executive, for allowing us to do this project at the Courthouse and Mr. Daryl Fisher for preparing the location and capsule for placement.

Please bury some Thin Mints and let me know when the capsule will be opened so I can be there to eat them.

It is hard to beat a Thin Mint!
