Frances Ray (McBroom) Stone



Mrs. Frances Ray (McBroom) Stone, 72, of Woodbury died Feb. 8, 2011. She was born in Cannon County on Sept. 8, 1938. She was preceded in death by her father, Ray Dave "R.D." McBroom.
 
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, James E. Stone, Sr. of Woodbury; her mother, W. T. (Hendrixson) McBroom of Woodbury; her son and daughter-in-law, Butch & Greta Stone of Woodbury; brother-in-law, Charlie F. & Judy Stone of Kimberling City, MO; five grandchildren, Tyler Stone, Sean Stone, Tabitha Stone, Jacob Stone and Will Stone.
 
Mrs. Stone grew up in Woodbury. She graduated Central High School in the Class of 1956. She attended MTSU before marrying her husband. Later working for many years as an executive secretary for the Rutherford County School System. She was a member of the Woodbury Church of Christ. Growing up on her parent's farm, she loved to ride and show Walking Horses. She still lived on the family farm until her passing. The Red Hat Ladies were close with her and she enjoyed going places with them.
        
Visitation will be held Friday, Feb. 11, 2011 from 4-8 PM at Smith Funeral Home. Visitation on Saturday will be held at the Woodbury Church of Christ from 10-1 PM. Funeral services will follow there in the new auditorium. Al Bugg, Jr. and Herb Alsup will officiate. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery.
