A Flash Flood Watch is in effect for Cannon County from Tuesday evening through Wednesday evening.

Rain is in the forecast tonight through Wednesday, with the greatest chance predicted for Tuesday evening and throughout the day Wednesday.

Two to five inches of additional rainfall are predicted on already saturated ground conditions... with locally higher amounts possible..

The soil runoff of rainfall is possible during the watch period as the ground may already be saturated prior to Tuesday night. This rainfall may cause flooding in low lying areas... creeks and streams. River flooding will also be possible.

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should flash flood warnings be issued.
