Flash Flood Watch in effect Tuesday evening through Thursday morning for Middle Tennessee.

Rain, heavy at times, will begin falling Tuesday afternoon and continue into Wednesday as a warm front lifts north through the Mid State. Already saturated grounds from previous rainfall will combine with additional heavy rain, especially Tuesday night through the day Wednesday, and may lead to flash flooding.

• When: From Tuesday evening through late Wednesday night.

• What: 2 to 4 inches of rainfall are expected across the watch area.

• Where: Street flooding will be a hazard for travelers. Low-lying and poor drainage areas will be at risk for flash flooding, as well as small streams.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
