Five Plead Guilty To Drug-Related Offenses
Friday, November 11, 2011 1:00 pm Judge Don Ash accepted guilty pleas Thursday in Cannon County Circuit Court from five individuals charged with drug offenses. • Johnny Mitchell pled guilty to Simple Possession of Methamphetamine. He received a suspended sentence of 11 months, 29 days and equal time on probation. He was fined $750 and was ordered to pay court costs and to forfeit seized property. • Mark Pless pled guilty to Sale of Schedule III drugs. He received a 4-year suspended sentence, 4 years state probation, a $3,500 fine and was assessed court costs. Pless also pled guilty to TennCare Fraud. He received a 2-year suspended sentence and 4 years state probation and was assessed court costs. He was also ordered to forfeit property seized during the investigation. • Robert Scott pled guilty to Promotion of Manufacture of Methamphetamine. He received a 4-year suspended sentence, 4 years state probation, a $2,000 fine, was assessed court costs, and was ordered to forfeit any property seized.• Brian Wells pled guilty to Promotion of Manufacture of Methamphetamine. He received a 4-year suspended sentence, 4 years state probation, a $2,000 fine, was assessed court costs, and was ordered to forfeit any property seized. • Cynthia Thomas pled guilty to Initiation of the Process to Manufacture Methamphetamine. She received a 12-year suspended sentence, was placed on Community Corrections for 12 year, was ordered to perform 200 hours of community service, pay a $2,000 fine and court costs. Thomas also pled guilty to Promotion of Manufacture of Methamphetamine. She received a 2-year suspended sentence, to run consecutive to the previous sentence, and 2 years on Community Corrections. She was also fined $2,000 and assessed court costs. In a third case, Thomas pled guilty to Theft of Merchandize and received a suspended sentence of 11 months, 29 days and equal time on probation.
