Stolen Firearms

Thomas Vorwark reported the theft of a Remington Model 870 shotgun, valued at $300, and a Remington 700 Tac rifle, valued at $400.

Motor Vehicle Theft

Jaan Demarek Parton, 45, was charged with motor vehicle theft after a traffic stop in DeKalb County. The vehicle was identified as a 2001 Ford F250 Super Duty truck. Bond was set at $5,000 and a hearing date was set for June 6 in General Sessions Court.

Short Mountain Stop

Deputy Derrick Morrison was conducting a late night patrol on Gunter Hollow Road and Firetower Road when he encountered a vehicle coming up Short Mountain. One of the passengers, Jesse Reed, had an outstanding warrant for violation of probation. A hearing date is set for July 25 in General Sessions Court.
