Fifth District Commission Seat Open After Davenport's Resignation

Cannon County Fifth District Commissioner Kim Davenport resigned her seat on the Commission effective February 1st. In a Facebook social media post, Davenport cited health concerns as to the reason why. Davenport had missed several of the past commission meetings since August. The next step will be to fill the seat of the fifth district. In the last election, Lacy Buchanan came in third and may be interested in filling the spot.
It will be up to the full commission to nominate and fill Davenport's vacant seat.
The Commission will meet for their February meeting Thursday February 6th.
