Ferguson's car wins 'Best of Show'

The "Best of Show" winner at the 2017 Color of Fall Car Show as this 1957 Chevy owned by Andy Ferguson.

On Saturday, Sept. 23, the Cannon County Courthouse square was ablaze with 90 degree heat and an array of colorful cars and trucks for the 19th Annual Color of Fall Car & Truck Show.

In all, 77 vehicles registered to be judged, and 67 trophies and 7 cash awards were presented with the Best Of Show going to Andy Ferguson, driving a 1957 Chevy.

Winners of "Top" and "Best of" awards went to Top Original - Jimmy Ford, 1966 Ford F100; Top Modified - Pete Vaughn, 1967 Chevy Nova; Top Pro Street - Lee Martin, 1967 Chevy Camaro; Top Full Size Truck - Tom and Sheila Toneff, 1953 3100 Chevy; Top Street Rod - Danny Jakes, 1955 Chevy Bel-air; Best Camaro - Ronald Clayton; Best Corvette - Dave Baker; Best Chevy - Ted Apple; Best Ford - Rick Waldron; Best Mustang - Ronnie Jacobs; Best Mopar - Monty Schultz; Best 4-wheel Drive - Alan Jakes; Best Rat-Rod - David Peeler; Best GM Bobby and Glenda Vance; Best Race Car - J.W. Freeze - Best Paint - DeWayne Watts; Best Interior - Dennis Hobson; Best Engine - Andy Shelton and Most Unique - Jeff Turner.

Additional trophies went to the top 40 plus the individual choice awards.

The Color of Fall Car & Truck Show is the only fundraiser sponsored by the Cannon County Chamber of Commerce and it takes a village to put this show on. Major sponsors include the Cannon Courier, Middle Tennessee Electric Membership Corp., B&P Printers, O'Reilly Auto Parts, Global Industrial Components, Gregory Goff with Exit Realty, Dr. Pepper Bottling Co. and DTC Communication who gave away T-Shirts, Caps and a 42-inch TV.

Big Frog T-Shirts & More designed the Car Show T-Shirts and great door prizes along with other businesses in Cannon County who make this event possible.
