Experiencing A Slump: Bradyville Man Faces Charges



A man found slumped over the steering wheel of the vehicle he was driving while it was still running is facing a variety of charges.

Cannon County Sheriff’s Deputy Steve McMillen arrested Jonathan Dale Davis, 841 Parker Rd., Bradyville, after he came in contact with a 1997 Chevy Cavalier in the parking lot of Highway 53 Market on Jim Cummings Hwy. on Feb. 29.

Davis was allegedly unable to satisfactorily perform field sobriety tests administered by Deputy McMillen. Davis allegedly had in his possession two half-smoked marijuana cigarettes and a hollowed-out ink pen with a white powdery residue inside it, an instrument commonly used to ingest or inhale drugs.

Also allegedly found, in a small silver cylinder container, were four Xanax pills and one morphine pill. Davis did not have in his possession a prescription for either of the narcotics.

Davis was charged with Driving Under The Influence, Possession Of Schedule IV Drugs, Possession Of Schedule II Drugs, Simple Possession Of Marijuana, Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia and violation of the Implied Consent law.

Total bond was set at $8,000. Initial court date is April 3.
