The Cannon County Election Commission called a special meeting to finalize the Short Mountain 2 and Pleasant Ridge voting locations Thursday.

Earlier this month the commission retracted its decision to shut down two Short Mountain voting places and the Pleasant Ridge voting location after a public meeting was held with residents in the affected areas.

Short Mountain 2 will go back to the Short Mountain School as there was no other suitable place found for a polling place in that precinct. Pleasant Ridge precinct voters will continue to do so at Woodbury Grammar School.

A copy of the minutes of the special meeting will be faxed to the State Coordinator of Elections to show that the action of both precincts were approved by the entire election commission.
