ALEXANDRIA — A new service from DTC Wireless allows customers to back-up their phone contacts from their wireless phone to a secure location. This new service called Bak-uP, also allows contacts to be quickly edited using a PC. In the event of a lost, stolen, or damaged phone, customers subscribing to the Bak-uP service will continue to have access to their contacts. Because this service uses the wireless data network with the phone, no cables or specialized software are needed.

“This is a great new feature that we feel is very beneficial for our customers,” states Ricky Gibbs, DTC Wireless Manager.

In addition to Bak-uP, DTC Wireless is also introducing MyHome, a new customizable starting page for customers’ wireless phones. With MyHome, DTC Wireless customers can easily set-up speedy mobile phone web browser access to the latest news and weather, as well as to social networking sites like Twitter, MySpace and Facebook. Gibbs says, “We’ve made popular mobile sites much easier for our customers to access with the new MyHome feature. Once you’ve tried MyHome, it’s hard to imagine accessing the internet from your phone without it.”
