Earl Nathan Simmons, Sr., 69, died Monday, Feb. 14, 2011 at his home following an extended illness.

A resident of Woodbury, he was born in Doyle, TN.

Survivors include a daughter, Donna (Doug) Johnston of Travelers Rest, S.C.; son, Joseph (Jean) Simmons of Adrian, MI; two grandchildren, Shawna and Kristin Johnson; brother, Dewayne Simmons of GA; and sister,  Patsy Moore of Pelham, TN.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Nath Simmons and Mary Gladys Kirby Simmons; his wife, Thelma Simmons and son, Earl Nathan Simmons, Jr.

A retired Factory worker, he loved gardening, flowers and outdoor activities.

Funeral services will be held at Woodbury Funeral Home at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 17, 2011.

Services in Aiden, Michigan will be conducted by Purse Funeral Home, Saturday, Feb. 19, 2011 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Aden Porter officiating.  The family will receive friends from 12 noon till 2 p.m.
