Dorothy Dean Murphy Fletcher, age 88, passed from this life on January 6, 2023 following a long illness. Dean was born on October 21, 1934 in Wilson Co.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Grady Henry Murphy and Mary Lucille Adamson Murphy; her son, Steve Fletcher; and her great granddaughter, Cadence Pearl Hollandsworth.

Dean is survived by her husband of 60 years, Bobby Lee Fletcher. They made their home in Auburntown. Together they had four children, Greg (Jennifer) Fletcher of Azle, TX, Steve (Janice) Fletcher of Auburntown, Sandy (Stan) Hollandsworth of Woodbury, & Melinda Crook of Woodbury.

She is also survived by two brothers, J.B. (Arlene) Murphy of Murfreesboro and Larry (Judy) Murphy of Woodbury; and 7 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

A member of the Baptist church, Dean was a long-time seamstress at Colonial Corporation shirt factory in Auburntown and Norvell in Alexandria. She was a beautiful person inside and out and a loving wife, mama, and granny. She will be missed greatly by all who knew her.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Sunday, January 8, 2023 in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. Thurman Seber officiating. Burial will follow at Prosperity Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, January 7, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Sunday, January 8, 2023 from 10:00 AM until time of service.

Serving as pallbearers will be Bobby Harrison Fletcher, Shane Hollandsworth, W.C. Basham, Mark Vance, James Hancock, & Carter Hancock.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Auburn Baptist Church or Prosperity Baptist Church.
