Deputies take reports of cash, car thefts

Cannon County Sheriff's deputies Tony Drake and Zach Smith were dispatched to 598 Young Hollow Road on March 16 to take a report from a woman about money which had been stolen out of a truck on her property, according to an incident report.

Upon arrival, Amy Jo Naylor exited her back door and took the deputies to the vehicle the money had been stolen out of, the report states.

The vehicle is a red 2006 Chevrolet Colorado. It was located underneath the carport at the back of the house.

Naylor stated she was missing $4,000 cash which she had left in her purse, which was left inside the vehicle, the report states.

Naylor also said her pursed had been dumped out. She said the only time this could have happened was the night before, on March 15. She said she had gone to the neighbor's house before our arrival to ask if they had seen or heard anything the night before. She reported that that the neighbors stated did not.

Deputies were told there was more property stolen out of Naylor's boyfriend's truck, but he is unwilling to cooperate with the investigation.

• Also on March 16, Deputy Smith was notified by dispatch a subject wanted to speak with him by phone about a stolen vehicle. He made contact with the subject, Glenn Anderson, who stated that he was currently out of state and that he was informed by his housekeeper that his Toyota Tacoma was missing from his residence when she arrived this morning.

Anderson stated the housekeeper informed him the front door to his house had been opened and that keys were missing from the kitchen, the incident report states.

Mr. Anderson said he left on March 12 and the vehicle was there when he left the property for work. He stated that he has been out of town. Anderson stated the vehicle was a 1992 white Toyota Tacoma with antique tags.

Deputy Smith informed Anderson that he would collect the information from him and have his vehicle entered into NCIC, and that he would be notified if the vehicle was found.
