Daisy Ellen Parton Blanton,age 85, daughter of the late Leonard and Daisy Parton, died on December 2, 2013.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Acy W. Blanton; Sister, Jo Ann Hancock; Brother, J.L. Parton; Sister-in-law, Mollie Parton; Brother-in-law, Arlin Burger.

She is survived by 4 daughters, Muriel (Gary) Brown of Niceville, FL., Beverly (Bobby) Smithson of Murfreesboro, Cynthia (Barry) Canter of Nashville, Barbara (Dana) Baldwin of Memphis; step-daughter:Diane McDonald of Michigan; 4 Grandchildren:  Jessica (Matt) Roberts, Spenser (Ashley) Baldwin, Maria (Elisha) Burnette and Ben Smithson; 5 Step Grandchildren:  Carrie, Darren, Meggan Dubiel, Kim Hobbs and Becky Knetzki; 3 Great Grandchildren:  Bella and Austin Roberts and Ellis Baldwin and 7 step great grandchildren.

Mrs. Blanton is also survived by sister, Faye Burger, brother, Oscar Parton; Brother-in-law, James Hancock and Sister-in-law: Lucille Parton all of Cannon Co.

She was a member of the Rivergate Church of Christ in Nashville and attended the Destin Church of Christ while in Florida.  She was a retiree of the Metro Water Services.

The family wants to think Judy Merrill for the loving and excellent care she has given to our mom during the past year.

Visitation with the family will be at the Riverwood Church of Christ, 1904 McGavock Pike, Nashville, Friday, Dec. 06 from 4 pm to 7 pm.  The body will then be moved to the Woodbury Funeral Home, Woodbury, TN. where visitation will be held on Saturday, Dec. 7, beginning at 9:00 am followed by services at the Woodbury Funeral Home Chapel at 1:30 p.m. with burial in the Leoni Cemetery.  Services will be conducted by Bro. Sellers S. Crain from Nashville and Bro. Russ Whitten from Destin, Florida. 

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Churches of Christ Disaster Relief Effort, 410 Allied Dr., Nashville, Tn.  37211 or Leoni Cemetery Trust Fund 5440 McMinnville Hwy., Woodbury, Tn. 37190.  Friends in Destin can make donations to Hope Medical Clinic, Destin Church of Christ.

Active pallbearers will be: Spenser Baldwin, Ben Smithson, Gary Brown, Elisha Burnette, Lannie Burger and Gary Hancock.
