Cripple Creek Cloggers

All current, former and prospective Cripple Creek Cloggers are invited to gather on Sunday, December 20, at 3 p.m. at 1216 E. Main Street, sboro, for fun, celebrations, and lots of reminiscing and conversation. Bring food/drink to share and spread the word to any whom you think might be interested.

The organization begun nearly 49 years ago is alive and continues today to teach, perform and host an international folkloric festival each June (www.mboro-international-folkfest.org). Though the name changed from Kittrell 4-H Square Dancers to Rutherford County Square Dancers to the current Cripple Creek Cloggers, the preserving of Appalachian-style square dancing with a clogging step remains the major goal of the organization.
The group began out-of-state travels in 1968 and out-of-country travels in 1973. In 2016, they will represent the U.S. in three international folkloric festivals in Normandy and Brittany in France during June 30-July 16.
