Dwayne Craighead has announced he is a candidate for the Tennessee GOP State Executive Committeeman seat in the 17th district.

The 17th district includes Clay, Cannon, Dekalb, Macon, Smith, and Wilson Counties.

Craighead said "This is one of the most important races that Republicans will have the opportunity to vote in, but is sometimes overlooked."

Your state executive committee plays an important role in the direction of the party in regards to bylaws along with choosing your state chairman.

Craighead noted "The most important aspect of the committeeman is to give support to local county parties and recognized GOP organizations".

In 2010, Dwayne was appointed chairman of the Clay County Republican Party. He finished the unexpired term of the previous chairman. Dwayne was elected in 2011 and was reelected in 2013 as Chairman of the Clay County GOP. Under his leadership, Republican candidates have never lost a race while he has served as chairman of the local party. Craighead is a very successful fundraiser for both the party and for candidates he supports.

Dwayne Craighead has been married to his lovely wife, Frances, for more than 28 years and both are members of Beech Bethany Church of Christ in Clay County. Dwayne is a lifelong Republican and a distinguished Conservative.
Dwayne was appointed by Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam as a board member for the Tennessee Community Service Agency.

Craighead states "If you, the Republican faithful, will give me the opportunity to serve, I pledge to be actively involved in each county party and will work to make the 17th district a Republican fortress for many years to come. I humbly ask for your support and vote."
