Beginning with the July 6 edition, the single-copy cost of the Cannon Courier will increase to 75 cents per edition.

That increase will put the Courier in line with other area newspapers. Most area papers cost at least 75 cents per issue with many charging $1 or more per edition.

"We're very proud of the Cannon Courier and its long history, especially being a top community product for our readers," said Ron Fryar, publisher/owner of the Cannon Courier.

"It's been over 10 years since there has been an increase in our single copy rate," Fryar said.

The Courier's subscription rate will continue at $24 a year for Cannon County residents.
