Incoming freshmen and perspective new players:

I am writing this letter to formally invite you to join the Cannon County Lions Football program. Since December, the upcoming 10th-through-12th graders have been preparing for this upcoming season. They have been lifting weights, conditioning, learning the new offense and defense, getting to know the new coaching staff, and most importantly, building trust in each other. Things are beginning to fall into place, but the one key aspect that has been missing is our upcoming freshmen class.

By playing football this season you will learn the values of commitment, discipline, accountability to others, and hard work. You will also be held to a higher standard physically, academically, and personally.

You will have access to coaches who care about you, not just as ball players, but as young men.

If you are interested in becoming a part of something special, our summer weightlifting program begins June 3. The weight room will be available at either 6:00 AM or 4:00 PM. In order to be prepared for the physical demands that football requires, it is a requirement that you lift weights and condition throughout the summer in order to be prepared for the tough competition we face this fall. I look forward to getting to know you and being your coach.

Sincerely,

Coach Daniel

It was a good way to stay in shape but it is not 1970 anymore.
