Christine Prater Davis

Christine Prater Davis, 86, died Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2011 at Stones River Hospital following an extended illness.

She was a native of Cannon Co. and lived in Woodbury.

Survivors include her daughter, Elizabeth Carol Davis (Paul) Chapman of Woodbury; two granddaughters, Paula Beth Chapman Burt (Barry) Burt and Tracy Lee Chapman both of Woodbury; sisters, twin sister, Lorene Robinson of McMinnville, Lois Davis of Woodbury, Pauline Lance of Morrison, Viva Gay Vickers of Liberty and Joyce Reed of Manchester; brother: Hubert Prater of Nashville; beloved pet, Presley.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dewey and Annie Mae Prater; husband, Fred “Bud” Davis; brother, Billy Prater; sister, Bell Prater and infant son, D.W. Davis.

A member of the Woodbury Church of Christ, Ms. Davis was a retired Seamstress with Colonial Corp.

Funeral services will be held in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 5 with Bro. Herb Alsup and Bro. Al Bugg officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 4. Burial will be in Prater Cemetery.
