Charles Dwight Vinson



Charles Dwight Vinson, 64, passed away suddenly Wednesday, May 04, 2016 at his home in Milton. He was a native of Cannon Co., his parents were the late, Robert & Marjorie Earls Vinson.

He is survived by his wife of almost 44 years, Janice Bogle Vinson of Milton; Children, Jim (Amy) Vinson of Milton and Rob (Savannah) Vinson of Lascassas; Grandchildren, Luke & Cale Vinson, Jase & Coree Vinson; Sister, Brenda (Jerry) Messick of Murfreesboro; Brother, Gary Vinson of Woodbury; Other Siblings: Patricia Smith, Glenda Richards, Billy Vinson and Mary Mason.

Dwight was a member of the Lascassas Baptist Church and the U.S. Army where he served in Vietnam. He was retired from Alvin C. York Medical Center and was currently an Auctioneer with Bob Parks Auction Co. and Director of DTC Communications.

He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Dwight loved farming and his church. He always had a smile on his face, a wave of his hand and he never knew a stranger.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Vinson is preceded in death by his parents-in-law, Paul & Frances Bogle and his brother, James Vinson.

Funeral Services will be 4 pm Saturday, May 7, 2016 at Lascassas Baptist Church with Bro. Kenneth Summey, Bro. Darrell Whaley and Bro. Teb Batey officiating. Interment will follow in the Milton Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 4 pm until 8 pm Friday, May 06, 2016 at Lascassas Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lascassas-Milton Lions Club, Lascassas Baptist Church Preschool or the Lascassas Fire Dept.
