Chamber Board Gives Thumbs Up To New Cannon Web Site

Chris Robinson of Short Mountain Studios motions to a projection showing the preliminary design for a new Web site for Cannon County during a presentation Thursday.
Government leaders, business owners and policy makers from around Cannon County gathered in the conference room of Stones River Hospital Thursday to preview a design for a new community web site.

The new design, developed by Short Mountain Studios, a local design firm, will give the Cannon County business community and government a more visible, permanent presence on the World Wide Web.

Following the presentation by designer Chris "Louis" Robinson the Chamber's board of directors voted to approve the design and move forward with the establishment of the site.

The Web address for the new site will be www.cannontn.com. It will be hosted by DTC Communications at no cost.

The cost for the design is $1000, and Robinson will provide site update and maintenance services for a fee of $100 per month.

Pending approval by the governing boards of Cannon County, the Town of Woodbury and the City of Auburn, the design and operational costs will be split three ways by those entities.

The site will feature links to local business, government, education, arts, agriculture, events and news information, Robinson said.

Official launch of the site is expected take place within the next few weeks.
