Cat's MeOW Costs Lovvorn $800



Judge Susan Melton presided over Cannon County General Sessions Court on May 8, 2012. The results of some of the cases on the docket include:

• Christine R. Lovvord entered into an agreed order of retirement for 8 months on a charge of Dogs Running At Large, subject to good and lawful conduct. She also agreed to pay $800 in restitution to the victims. Lovvord was charged after her dog chased a cat up a tree, causing injury to the feline which required surgery to one of its legs. Lovvorn was not assessed court costs or the county’s litigation tax, and as part of the agreement the victims agreed not to file a civil suit.

• Shannon Lee Blythe pled guilty to Simple Possession Of Methamphetamine (Schedule II). He was given a partially suspended sentence of 11 months, 29 days, ordered to serve 45 days in jail, and placed on probation for 10 months, 14 days. He was also fined $150 and assessed court costs.

• Cory Wade Foster pled guilty to Theft Under $500 (Shoplifting). He admitted to stealing $3.25 in merchandise from the Quick Shop Market. He received a partially suspended sentence of 11 months, 29 days, a 90-day jail sentence, probation for 8 months, 20 days upon release, and was ordered to pay court costs and restitution.

• Seth L. Greene pled guilty to Theft Under $500. He admitted to stealing $59.55 worth of tomato and pepper plants from ACE Hardware. He received a suspended sentence of 11 months, 29 days, equal time on probation, a $100 fine and was assessed court costs. He was also ordered to stay away from the premises of the victim.

• Donald Tracy Hollis had bound over to the May 25 meeting of the Cannon County Grand Jury charges of Reckless Endangerment, Leaving The Scene of a Property Damage Accident, Driving While License Revoked 14 Offense, DUI 8th Offense, Evading Arrest by Motor Vehicle, Driving Habitual Vehicle Offender.

• Steven Wayne Davis pled no contest to Theft Under $500. He was given a partially suspended sentence of 11 months, 29 days, ordered to serve 12 days in jail, and was placed on probation for 11 months, 18 days. He was also assessed court costs. Charges of Criminal Conspiracy and Criminal Trespass were dismissed.

• Jeremy Wayne Duke pled guilty to Driving While License Suspended 2nd Offense. He was given a partially suspended sentence of 11 months, 29 days, ordered to serve 30 days in jail, placed on probation for 10 months, 29 days, fined $50 and assessed court costs. 

• Matthew Lawrence Feragola pled guilty to Driving While License Suspended. He received a suspended sentence of 11 months, 29 days, equal time on probation, was ordered to pay court costs and his driver’s license was suspended for one year. He also pled guilty to Violation of Probation and was placed on probation for 11 months, 29 days. The sentences will run concurrent.

• Aaron Vincent Moon pled guilty to Driving While License Revoked 3rd Offense. He received a partially suspended sentence of 11 months, 29 days, was ordered to serve 33 days in jail, and placed on probation for 10 months, 13 days. He was also ordered to pay court costs and his driver’s license was suspended. Moon also pled guilty to Violation of Probation. He was ordered to serve 33 days in jail and his probation was extended for 9 months, 23 days. The sentences will run concurrently. A charge of Evading Arrest was dismissed.

• Stephanie Michelle Mooneyham pled guilty to Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. She received a suspended sentence of 11 months, 29 days and probation for an equal amount of time. She was also fined $150 and assessed court costs. Two Possession Of Legend Drug charges were dismissed.

• Cindy R. Rose pled guilty to three counts of Worthless Check passing. She was placed on probation for 11 months, 29 days on each count, which will run consecutively. She was also ordered to pay court costs and restitution on each count.

• David Jonathan Miller pled guilty to Violation of Probation 3rd Offense. He was ordered to serve 30 days in jail and his probation was extended for 10 months.

• Kory Lyndell Smith pled guilty to Violation of Probation. He was sentenced to 45 days in jail and his probation was extended for 9 months, 12 days.

• Charlies James King pled guilty to Violation of Probation. He was ordered to serve 47 days in jail and his probation was extended for 4 months, 14 days. 

• Ciara J. Scott pled guilty to Driving Without A License. She received a 30 day suspended sentence, equal probation time, was fined $2 and assessed court costs.

• Martha E. Newingham and Mary Pomeroy had charges of Allowing An Unlicensed Driver to Operate A Vehicle and  No Driver’s License, respectively, dismissed by the State.

• Brian Alan Stafford had a charge of Domestic Assault reset for June 5. Stafford, 847 Adamson Branch Rd., Liberty, was arrested on April 24 by Woodbury Police Sgt. Lowell Womack following an incident at a residence on Bryant Lane. Stafford allegedly pushed, jumped on the back and pulled the hair of the purported victim, who is pregnant. The baby is reportedly not Stafford’s. Bond was set at $2,500.

• Mary Jane Abel failed to appear on a charge of Disorderly Conduct, Public Intoxication and Resisting Arrest. A Capias was issued for her arrest. 

• Bobby Jerome Davenport, Jr. failed to appear on time for on a Violation of Probation charge. A Capias was issued. When he did appear Judge Melton told him to go to the Cannon County Jail so the warrant could be served.

• Jeffrey Lynn Davis had a charge of Driving While License Suspended 2nd Offense reset for July 10. Davis was charged with the offense by Woodbury Police Sgt. Lowell Womack following a traffic stop on Sunny Slope Rd. Bond was set at $800.

• Gary Eubanks had charges of Aggravated Burglary and Theft Under $1,000 reset for June 19.

• Jonathan Gibson had a charge of Driving While License Suspended 1st Offense reset for June 12. 

• Nathan Carl Hale had charges of Public Intoxication, Disorderly Conduct, Resisting Arrest, Simple Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia reset for May 22.

• Brenda Lee McEwin had a charge of DUI 1st Offense reset for July 10. 

• Franklin E. Shiney, Jr. had a charge of Driving While License Suspended 2nd Offense reset for June 12.

• William Kelly Spradley failed to appear on a charge of Driving While License Suspended 1st Offense. A Show Cause was issued.

• Sherry Smith Stephens had charges of Driving While License Suspended, Financial Responsibility Violation and Registration Violation reset for July 10. 

• Joseph Matthew Taylor had charges of DUI 1st Offense and Insurance Law Violation reset for June 5.

• Shauna Renee Taylor had a charge of Driving While License Suspended 1st Offense and Financial Responsibility Violation reset for July 10. 

• Michael Ray Thurmond failed to appear on a charge of Driving While License Suspended. A Show Cause was issued.

• Amy Beth Tribble had charges of Initiating The Process To Manufacture Methamphetamine and Failure To Appear reset for May 22. 

• Aneadra Renee Wade had a charge of Driving While License Suspended reset for July 10.

• Jimmie D. Bryan had a charge of DUI 1st Offense reset for July 24.

• Johnny Lee Duncan withdrew his petition for a suspended sentence.
