Carl "Pete" Kentner, 74, died Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2010 at Hendersonville Medical Center following an extended illness.

A native of Montgomery County, he lived in Hendersonville and was retired from Pepsi Cola where he worked as a semi truck driver. He was an Army veteran and a Baptist.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Hazel Sutter Kentner; a son, Carl Joseph "Joey" Kentner; a brother, Robert Kentner and a sister, Henrietta Sue Morris.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Sue Bly Kentner of Hendersonville; a daughter, Melissa Kentner (Todd) Davidson of Hendersonville; two grandchildren; Jonathon Mayo and Monica Mayo (Andy Ragan) of Hendersonville; four brothers, Tom, Larry and Benny Kentner, all of Clarksville, and Alex Kentner of Washington; and a sister, Imogene Temple of Hendersonville.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 27, at Woodbury Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 28 in the chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home. Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.
