Cannon Loses In Region Tournament

The Cannon County Lionettes reached the region tournament for the first time since the program began twelve years ago. Tuesday the District 7A tournament runner up traveled to Hendersonville to play Merrol Hyde Magnet with the winner extending their season by at least two more games and an automatic bid to the sectionals.
The Lady Hawks controlled the region game and won easily beating Cannon County 9-0 as the game was called as a result of the mercy rule with 28 minutes left to go.
Cannon finishes their best season at 8-7. Merrol meets Smith County in Hendersonville for the region championship Thursday night.
