The Cannon County Lionettes girls soccer team finds themselves still in the hunt for a second place finish. To do so, they must have some help from Watertown tonight in their game against second place York and they themselves must defeat the team that secured a first place District 7-AA season finish in Smith County.
The Lady Owls come into tonight's contest in Woodbury with a unblemished record at 8-0-1 overall and 6-0 in district play. The Lady Owls have not lost a district contest since 2016 and have won 25 straight district contests.
The Lionettes are 3-4 overall and 2-3 in district play. They have to win the remainder of their three games left on the district slate for a shot a runner up in the regular season. York who currently is in second place must lose tonight against Watertown as well.
Game time tonight is at 6:00 at Fred Schwartz Field.
