Cannon County Varsity Middle girls team placed 16th team out of 28 teams at the Tennessee State Cross Country Championships held on October 21, 2017 at Victor Ashe Park in Knoxville. There are an average of 30 other teams each year on Middle Varsity Girls, Boys and Elementary Girls, Boys, too, that do not qualify at regionals and make it to State. Cannon has qualified 5 years in a row! Cannon County Varsity boys placed 19th team out of 33 teams in the state. Elementary Varsity girls team placed 12th in the state 286 runners. Elementary Varsity boys team placed 14th team in the state with 298 runners. Elementary Junior Varsity placed 7th in the state with a total of 232 boy and girl runners. One JV Elementary runner trophied at 16th place in the JV run.
