WOODBURY, TN -- "After you sit on Santa's knee, join the Child Advocacy Center for hot chocolate and homemade cookies," said Cannon County Coordinator Cassell Galligan-Davis. "The Board of Directors, staff, and volunteers of the Child Advocacy Center cordially invite the community to the 2nd annual Cannon County Country Christmas Open House."

The Child Advocacy Center will be open to the public on Friday, November 17 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. as part of the Cannon Merchants County Christmas. The Center is located at 214 West Water Street in Woodbury. Tours are available and staff will be on hand to answer any questions about the programs that benefit Cannon County children.

"The Child Advocacy Center appreciates all the support that we have received from the Cannon County community this past year," said Child Advocacy Center Director Sharon De Boer. "The Christmas Open House is a wonderful time for us to show the community how much we appreciate all that they have done this past year for child abuse victims in our community."

The Child Advocacy Center works as a team with the Department of Children's Services, law enforcement, and the District Attorney's Office to investigate and prosecute child abuse cases and help children and families heal from the trauma. The Center trains parents, grandparents and professionals how to protect children from child sexual abuse and what to do if their child reports abuse to them.

"I am new to the Cannon Child Advocacy Center, but I'm no stranger to Woodbury," said Cannon County Coordinator Cassell Galligan-Davis. "I look forward to showing my friends and neighbors the important work that's being done every day to help Cannon County kids."

For more information about the event, please contact Cassell Galligan-Davis at (615) 563-9915.
