COUNTRY CHRISTMAS: The Cannon County Chamber of Commerce presents its annual Cannon County Country Christmas Friday and Saturday. Santa arrives at the Square in Woodbury at 5 p.m. Pictures with Santa will be at the Cannon Courier from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Register your child with for a bag of toys sponsored by the Chamber. County schools are contest winners will be displayed at participating merchants. Saturday events include the Lions Stride for Diabetes Walk starting at noon, followed by the Push, Pull or Pedal Children’s Parade around the Square at 1 p.m.

CHRISTMAS FOR KIDS DRIVE: REACH Afterschool Programs is collecting Toys, Coats and Non-perishable Food items for Cannon County Kids this Christmas. Items can be dropped off at the following locations: REACH Office, All REACH Sites, The Courthouse, Cannon Courier, First National Bank, Senior Center, First Bank, Middle TN Electric, and CCHS.

TOY DRIVE: A community toy drive and evening with the group Right On Time will be held at Short Mountain Church of God Friday, Nov. 20 at 7 p.m. Admission is one toy per person or one large toy per family. For more information or directions call 615-563-2423.

NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH: The fall/winter meeting of the Bradyville Neighborhood Watch will be held Saturday, Nov. 21 at 5 p.m. at the Bradyville Church of Christ. Cannon Co. Sheriff’s Detective Charlie Wilder will give a presentation on “Current Law Enforcement Issues Affecting Your Community.” General concerns within the community will also be discussed. A covered dish meal will follow.

CELEBRATION OF GIVING: The annual Coat and Toy Drive sponsored by Cash Express continues until Dec. 15. Toys, coats, shoes (washable) and non-perishable food items are being accepted at many drop-off locations in the area.

BASKETBALL FUNDRAISER: A Spaghetti Supper & Alumni Game will be held Friday, Nov. 20 beginning at 6 p.m. at East Side School. Supper $7.00. Game $3.00. Prepaid food and game coupons available.

GASSAWAY CHRISTMAS: A country ham breakfast will be held Saturday, Nov. 21 at Gassaway Fire Hall from 6 to 10 a.m. $7.00 per plate. There will be a Christmas Tree Lighting at 5 p.m. Refreshments will be served. Everyone is invited to attend.

CHRISTMAS GALA: There will be a Christmas Gala at the Cannon County Senior Center on Dec. 11 begining at 6:00 p.m. Tickets are $25 and includes a meal and entertainment provided by South Jackson Street (swing) Band. Call 615-563-5304 for additional information.

PLANNING MEETING: The Woodbury Planning Commission will meet in regular session Tuesday, Nov. 17 at 6:00 p.m. at Woodbury City Hall. The meeting is open to the public.

LIONS PECAN SALE: The Woodbury Lions Club have started their annual Pecan Sale. This year there are pecans (halves and pieces), walnuts, fruit and nut mix, cashews and granola mix. All will be available at the following locations: Jennings Jewelers, Vance Bros. Car Lot, Bromley-Jennings Car Repair Shop, Rite Aid Pharmacy, Cutting Edge Salon, Bobby Smith’s Office, Cannon County Senior Center, Dr. Trea Wessel’s Office, First Bank, Paul Reed’s Furniture Store, First National Bank, Stones River Hospital, Regions Bank, Woodbury Funeral Home, Woodbury Nursing Center, Woodson’s Pharmacy and any Lions Club member.

Featuring the works from over 25 area artists who specialize in unique handmade arts and crafts, the Annual Christmas Boutique is the place to shop for unique stocking stuffers, fine handmade creations or a one of a kind masterpiece. The Annual Christmas Boutique will be open before and after shows or anytime from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday until Dec. 19.
