County Electric Demonstration Contest - This year was an awesome year for the local or classroom electrical demonstration contest. We would like to invite all participants to our County Electrical Demonstration Contest which will be held Thursday, March 14th at West Side Elementary School with registration beginning at 6:00 p.m. and the contest beginning at 6:30. Everyone is invited to come and participate and there will be prizes and awards for everyone. In addition, the county winning 6th and 7th grade county winning demonstrations will receive a scholarship to attend 4-H Electric Camp this summer at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, courtesy of our wonderful sponsor Middle Tennessee Electric Membership Corporation.

Let the Fun Begin - Wondering what you are going to do this summer? Want to have a great time, make new friends, and memories that will last a lifetime? Then 4-H camp is the place for you!!! Our 4-H camps are renowned for their facilities and fun filled activities. There are two camps for our 4-Hers to take advantage of:

Junior High Camp (7th and 8th grades) will be held May 27th through 31st

Junior Camp (4th - 6th grades) will be held June 17th through 21st

The cost for both camps is $260 which will cover all meals, lodging, and activities, in addition to traditional camping activities such as swimming, rifle and archery range, craft house, sports and more, the highlight of the Junior High 4-H camp will be a trip to canoe the beautiful Caney Fork River. Information about both camps will be given out during the March 4-H club meetings. Knowledge is Power!!! Participants at this year's 4-H Electric Camp will have a shocking experience as they take a week at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville to learn about, electric vehicles, electrical safety, green energy, as well as visiting Dollywood and much, much more. 4-H electric camp will be held June 25-28 at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. Cost for the trip will be $225 and covers all meals, lodging, and trip to Dollywood. 4-H Electric Camp is sponsored by UT Extension and the Electric Cooperatives of Tennessee. 4-H Electric Camp is open to 4-Hers in the 6th or 7th grade.

Academic Conference- Another wonderful opportunity for our 6th through 8th grade 4-H members in 4-H Academic Conference, Academic Conference is where 4-Hers in a variety of projects spend a week at the University of Tennessee learning and spending time with scientists and professors who are involved in a wide variety of subject matter as well as have a lot of fun on the UTK campus and Dollywood as well. Academic Conference will be held at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, June 11-14th. For those interested, on Monday, March 25th there will be a workshop for those interested held here at the 4-H office beginning at 3:30 PM.
