The book, Midnight Moonshine Rendezvous, tells the story of Luke Alexander Denny, a charming rascal, popular with the ladies, who ran illegal moonshine for over 30 years without ever being caught. Cannon County's Gerald Melton played a convincing outlaw.

The 12th Annual History Hayride at Edgar Evins State Park on Oct. 14th was another huge success, greatly due to the acting talents of four prominent county residents, Lori Christensen, Freddy Curtis, Gerald and Marcia Melton. Reservations for next year will open September 1, 2018 on the website www.foeesp.com/history-hayride

The event is sponsored by the Friends of Edgar Evins State Park, an all volunteer non-profit organization with the sole purpose of helping the park. Information about the group is on the website at www.foeesp.com and www.facebook.com/friendsofeesp.
