Cannon Co. Walking Horse Association Cleans Up Trails
It may have been muddy, it may have been cloudy and it may have rained a little on Saturday, but these ‘conditions’ did not deter members of the Cannon County Walking Horse Association in following through with a scheduled “Clean Up the Trails Day.”

Adults rode through popular trails and picked up items that failed to make their way back into camp throughout the year. When this group finished up on Saturday, they did not look like your usual bunch of trail riders returning to camp. Riders and horses alike were muddy; instead of horses toting saddle bags they were used to tote out bags of trash to the collection areas.

The CCWHA Jr Auxiliary and their leaders also got in on the action. It was felt they had a lot more fun with the mud and water than the adults did. Some of the vehicle traffic stopped and commended the kids on their efforts to help keep the community clean and maintained. After all of the collections were gathered, a large pickup truck load was delivered to the convenience center for proper handling.

Everyone who participated is commended in their efforts to preserve our community and a special acknowledgment to the kids who stepped up to the challenge.
