It's recital time again at Cannon Arts Dance Studio and this year’s show promises to be one of the best yet.

The North/South theme, chosen to commemorate  the 150th anniversary of the Civil War, frames a variety of dances, including Chattanooga Choo Choo and Robert E. Lee representing the South, and Broadway Baby and New York Groove representing the North.

Many genres will be featured in the show whether they are Northern or Southern, including Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Ballroom, and Clogging.

“We have students from 3 to adult so there promises to be a little something for everyone,” commented Lori Christensen, director of the studio.

This year, the theme is more evident in the show, with the division of acts into northern and southern numbers, and the inclusion of narrative and video clips.

Christensen, known locally as Ms. California, is especially excited about the professionalism of the staff, and how students have responded to instruction this year.

Students and staff have put in additional rehearsal time to make this show extra special. The public is invited.
