Cannon and Dekalb Teams Look To Advance Tonight In Tournament

Night number two of the District 8-AA tournaments produced another upset as the boys portion of the first round took place. Dekalb County made easy work of Macon County to win the rubber match between the two teams 70-58. The two teams split the series during the regular season. Next up for Dekalb will be the third seeded Cannon County Lions at Watertown Thursday at 6:00
The big upset came next as Smith County who only collected two wins during the regular season against District 8-AA opponents sent Livingston home with a 70-65 win. Livingston swept the season series against the Owls.
Smith will play Watertown at 7:30 Thursday night.

Tonight is the second round of the District 8-AA tournament for the girls as Cannon County will meet Dekalb County for the right to advance to the semifinals and an automatic bid to the region. Cannon came close to beating their rivals February 4th losing by one 39-38 in Woodbury. Dekalb beat Cannon in Smithville 56-43 in January. Tipoff will be at 7:30 after the Watertown vs York matchup
