Buchanan wins nursing title, open house set

Tammy Buchanan became a resident of Woodbury in 1990 when she married Steve Buchanan. They have 3 children, Conner 19, Katie 17 and Abigail 11. Tammy states with the support of her husband, children, extended family and friends, she could not have worked towards her goal.

Starting in 2007 after she earned her LPN, she took a class at a time to earn her RN. “I told myself over and over, Philippians 4:13, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. My husband and children helped a great deal. They sacrificed a lot in order for us to achieve this goal. I feel blessed that Stones River Hospital and Woodbury Nursing Center, WNC, worked with me and my school schedule in order for me to attend classes and earn income. I am grateful that I have the opportunity to work close to home.” After completing her degree, WNC brought her onboard full time. “Woodbury Nursing Center is a rewarding place to work. The staff there treats the residents as their own grandparents and family members. I have never been in a long-term care facility that has so much love to give to the elderly. It’s the employees that have been there for numerous years day-in and day-out that have made WNC what it is today. It requires a special kind of individual to work with geriatrics. I feel Woodbury Nursing Center aims to find and keep these types of employees.”

On Saturday, September 14 at 6:00 p.m. at the Nursing Center, Tammy’s family is serving a celebration cake for her accomplishment. We would like to invite you to come and fellowship with us in this celebration.

“No gifts please. Your presence will be the only gift that I need,” stated Tammy.
