Bryson Named Senior Counselor By TBA

Woodbury lawyer William H. Bryson with Bryson & Bryson has been named a Senior Counselor of the Tennessee Bar Association. Bryson was awarded the designation at the TBA's annual convention held recently in Chattanooga.

Senior counselors are those Tennessee Bar Association members who, during the coming membership year, will reach 75 years of age or complete 50 years of practice. They are honored for their service to the profession.

The 2011 Tennessee Bar Association Annual Convention was held in conjunction with four other legal organizations — the Tennessee Alliance for Black Lawyers (TABL), the Tennessee Lawyers' Association for Women (TLAW), the Tennessee Association for Justice (TAJ) and the Tennessee Judicial Conference.

This joint meeting structure allows the groups to address common issues and concerns. It also offers opportunities for additional education, long-range planning, and recognition of attorneys who have performed outstanding legal work and community service.

The Tennessee Bar Association (TBA) is the largest professional association in Tennessee with more than 11,000 members. Founded in 1881, the TBA provides opportunities for continuing legal education, professional development and public service.

The TBA's dedication to serving the state's legal community is evidenced by its membership roll, which represents the entire spectrum of legal practice: plaintiff and defense lawyers, corporate counsel, judges, prosecutors, public defenders, government lawyers and legal services attorneys.
