Funeral services for Billie S. Lovvorn, age 82 of Shelbyville, will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday March 2, 2017 in the Chapel of Doak-Howell Funeral Home with Brother Charles Williams and Brother Todd Tanner officiating, and Speakers; Kyle Barrett and Steve Lovvorn. Burial will follow in the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Lovvorn passed from life Sunday, February 26, 2017, after an extended illness.
Visitation will be held 5-8 p.m. Wednesday March 1, 2017 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Billie Jo Smithson Lovvorn was born August 3, 1934 in Cannon County to the late Obie Smithson and the late Vernie Smithson and is preceded in death by; husband, Bill Lovvorn (1979) and sister, Ginger Lucas.
Mrs. Lovvorn worked for Liberty National Life Insurance Company; she began as Office Manager of the Tullahoma branch, and was later promoted to Field Office Administrator at the home office in Birmingham, AL. The promotion allowed her to travel all over the Southeast working with other branches of Liberty National.
Mrs. Lovvorn was a dedicated member of Fair Haven Baptist Church and a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is survived by sons; Tony (Melissa) Barrett, of Shelbyville, TN, Russ (Reita) Barrett of Tullahoma, TN, grandchildren; Kyle (Shannon) Barrett of Clemson, SC, Amy (Rob) Northcutt, Shelbyville, TN, Julie (Adam) Cataldo of Nashville, TN, Ben Barrett of Shelbyville, TN, great grandchildren; Mia, Silas, Dorian, and Amora Cataldo, Jonas and Elijah Barrett. Sister; Marilyn (Mike) Bailey of Celina, TN, brothers; Jimmy (Chris) Smithson, of Shelbyville, TN, Jerry (Frances) Smithson, of Woodbury, TN and caregiver Brenda Lovvorn.
