Barbara Mahaffey Smith, 64, died Tuesday October 18, 2011 at Middle Tennessee Medical Center.

A native of Cannon County, she lived in Woodbury.

She was a Retired Special Needs Teacher’s Aide at West Side School and a member of the Hollow Springs Community Church.

Survivors include her mother, Evelyn Mahaffey of Murfreesboro; husband, Glenn Smith of Woodbury; two daughters,  Tammy (Alan) Roehrich of Walter Hill and Angela Youngblood Lynch of Short Mountain; stepchildren, Paul Smith of McMinnville and Kevin Smith of Hillsboro; grandchildren, Laura Roehrich, Erica Ramey, John Roehrich, Kayce and Dylan Sweeney; great granddaughter, Kaylyn Ramey; two sisters, Bonnie (Houston) Stem of Murfreesboro and Rita (Dave) Gambill of Smyrna and best friend, Jeff Hill of of Woodbury

She was preceded in death by her father, Ed Mahaffey; husband, Robert Davenport and step-son, Doug Smith.

Funeral services will be held in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home  at 2 p.m. on Thursday, October 20 with Bro. Dwight Smitty and Bro. Joe Sissom officiating.     

Burial will be in Coleman Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2011.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Woodbury Funeral Home.
