Frank Patrick got out of the hospital Wednesday morning and his brother, Prentice (P-pa) went in that afternoon. He is home and improving daily. Thanks for the prayers!

Spring Break was a time for a lot of people to do some vacationing. Wade and Jennifer Duggin and family were enjoying a trip to places in North Carolina when they received a call to get home fast - they were about to be grandparents again. They drove like crazy and got here in time to welcome Addison Lynn Smith born the 3rd of April. She weighed in at 6 lbs. 4 oz and was 19-3/4" in length. Proud parents are Allen and Danielle Howell Smith.

Another newcomer made his entrance the 8th of April. Jordan Cole Tuck topped the scales at 8 lbs., 10 oz and was 21-3/4" in length. He has a big brother, Hunter, who is warming to the idea of a little brother. Proud parents are Colton and Abby Tenpenny Tuck.

Easter Sunday was a day to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Savior and also a time to enjoy time with families.

Rita and Ernest Davis' family filled their front yard with children and grandchildren hunting eggs, having an egg toss and an egg spoon race. Of course there was delicious food before all the activities.

Brenda and Bobby Francis' yard and home was also full including not only children and grandchildren but sister, Debbie and Van Cheatham and their family, the Sandes of Eagleville.

We also had all of our children and grandchildren that day. Along with the Easter celebration, we had 2 birthdays - Dustin Patrick and Alayna Reed. It was a strawberry celebration all the way as Dustin chose strawberry ice cream and Alayna had a strawberry cake with chocolate icing topped and surrounded with chocolate covered strawberries.

Bobby and Dean Fletcher enjoyed having ALL their children and grandchildren together for Easter. Their son Greg and his wife Jennifer were in from Fort Worth, Tx for a few days. Friday night everyone gathered at Steve and Janice's home for finger-foods. Sunday found them at Jason, Melinda and Lily Crook's for a cookout and Monday morning they met at JimBo's Place for breakfast.
Speaking of JimBo's Place which is owned by Jimmy Mingle - he has a 13-year-old granddaughter, Caitlyn McCrary, which has been offered a softball scholarship to play with the Lady Vols of the University of Tennessee. She will sign when she graduates high school in 2019! She is currently in the 8th grade at Oakland Middle School, Murfreesboro. Wow congratulations.

Another granddaughter, Hannah McCrary, is and has been for a while in Cincinnati, OH getting ready for a try at the Olympics.

Former Auburntown resident, Julie Anne Neely Miller and husband Jeremy's daughter was born completely deaf. Lily Anna is now 8 months old. They are planning cochlear implants sometime this fall. A fund raiser will be held at the Auburntown church of Christ fellowship hall on Sunday, April 19th from 11:00 a.m. till 1:00 p.m. The chef is "Aunt Sandi". Price is a donation. The meal consists of: smothered pork cutlet, mashed potatoes and gravy, southern green beans, roll, dessert and drink.

Having birthdays this week are Charles Dickey Vantrease and Sadie Grace Hockett on the 15th, Mark Melton the 16th, Charlene Lindsay, Connie Leyhew and James Robert Hockett on the 18th. The 19th has Todd Harris, Anthony Griffith, Anthony Leach, and Gavin Cooper getting to celebrate. Cody Joyce and Tammy O'Neal add a year on the 20th which ends my list. Happy birthday you all.

Happy anniversary to Thomas and Dottie Holder on the 17th. It was April 20, 1941 when Mable Hawkins became the bride of Hop Turney. That's 74 years folks, congratulations. Jimmy and Virginia McKnight celebrate their anniversary on the 21st. Happy, happy to all of you.
