Condolences to Theresa Raines on the death of her sister, Mary Catherine Wood who passed away recently.

Get well wishes to Joyce Leach who suffered minor injuries in a recent fall.

They travelled to Searcy, AR where Todd and Susan Turney spent several days "letting go of their firstborn", Jordan, by getting him "installed" at Hardin University.

Members of Prosperity Baptist Church hosted a surprise retirement reception Sunday night for their pastor, Don Rigsby. He officially retired from public work the last day of June.

Many of our community (especially of the young generation) were in Nashville Tuesday night to attend the One Direction concert. Of course, it took some "more mature" (like moms, dads, etc.) to accompany them.

Don't forget - you can enjoy a delicious meal without the hassle of cooking and cleaning afterwards. Come to the Community Center Wednesday, (tomorrow), between 3:30 and 7:00 p.m. to either get a takeout or a sit-down-and-enjoy meal of fish, chicken strips, fries, beans, slaw, dessert and drink. Chef is Tim Reed. The cost is $8.00 for adult plates, $5.00 for children ages 4-10 and free to 3 and under. You will be "killing two birds with one stone" by enjoying the meal and contributing to the Auburn School fundraiser.

Whew! It sure was a trying time for lots of folks Wednesday afternoon. Students were kept at school due to the stormy weather and when it finally cleared, there were flooding and road blocks due to fallen limbs to deal with. School buses were not able to run their entire route and parents weren't able to get to their children - some until around 6:00.

There were also lots of trees blown down in yards and some power lines were affected but praise the Lord, no one injured (at least that I know of).

Jeremy Whited and Nathan Wright celebrate their birthday the 27th. The 29th it will be Jeff Fletcher, Jacob Pursell, Chase Bogle, Bridgett Dodd, Dustin Mears and Bre'Anna O'Neal who get to eat cake and ice cream. Kim Fleming, Laura Reed Cooper, Burton Moulder, Curtis Davenport and Tommy Shehan ends the month of August birthdays. Lily Hughes begins the month of September when she turns 7 on the 1st. Happy birthday to all of you.
Have a safe Labor Day weekend.
