Sympathy is extended to Reagan Vaugh on the recent death of her grandmother.

Congratulations to Jared and Nikki Saddler on the arrival of Lexie Elaine who was born Friday, August 2nd. Miss Lexie Elaine weighed in at 6 lbs., and 15 oz and was 19-3/4" in length. She has a proud big sister, Izabella Marie. Her proud grandparents are Dwight and Katherine Saddler.

Principal Melinda Crook wants to thank the 150 or so parents and students who came to their "Back-to-School Bash" Thursday night the 1st. She and the staff are very excited about the coming year.

Don't forget those big yellow school buses. We bus drivers do our best to keep each student rider safe but we need your help. Please when you see the yellow caution lights on, prepare to stop and by all means, DO NOT PASS when the red lights are flashing and the stop arm is out. This means even on the school grounds. We never know when a student will dart out the door and cross the road.

Robbie Owen was treated to a day out on her birthday, the 6th. Wilma Harris, Ruth Davenport, and Betty Thomas met Michelle James in Murfreesboro for a delicious meal.

Prosperity Baptist Church held a baptismal service recently. Candidates were Alexa Sheerer and Haley Satterfield.
Celebrating birthdays last week were Tommy Griffith, Kirtsen Garrison, Sam Morrison and Wayne Hale all on the 14th. Melissa Mingle and Regan Vaughn had theirs the 15th. On the 16th Caitlyn McCrary and Freda Henson get to add a year. The 17th was a popular day for birthdays as Karen Stinnett, Jamey Johnson, Bonnie Hagar, Louise Holden, Karen Neely and Tina Cooper all got cake and ice cream. Katherine Saddler added a year on the 18th while Aaron Vantrease turned 34 on the 19th. Finishing up the wishes on the 20th were April Melton and Chastity Gilley. Hope each of you had a great day.

Sunday, my family was a part of the 206 who attended church with the Dillon Street Baptist congregation for their "Friends and Family" day. We returned here for a birthday celebration for Sam Morrison.

It's a spaghetti dinner Sunday, August 25th at the Auburntown Church of Christ Fellowship Hall from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Chef is Sandi McDaniel. The menu includes the spaghetti (of course), garlic bread, salad, dessert and drink. Adult plates are $8.00, children ages 4-10 are $5.00 and those 3 and under get theirs free. Raffle items and whole desserts are available. Proceeds go to Auburn School.

Belated anniversary wishes to David and Breanda Dodd, their 36th, on the 15th. Tommy and Betty Sue Hayes celebrated half of a century of togetherness on the 16th. Curtis and Kathy Davenport had their 34th on the 17th. On the 19th day of August, my dear sister-in-law, Barbara Hayes Harris, had put in 53 years of putting up with my brother, Richard! Bless her heart. Dianne and Larry McAllister celebrated an anniversary on the 20th.

Coming up with birthdays this week are Dustin Gibson on the 21st, Charles Witty on the 22nd, Johnny Kennedy on the 25th, Sylvia Flynn on the 26th and Jeremy Whited and Nathan Wright on the 27th. Happy birthday you all.
It was 43 years ago the 22nd when John and Betty King tied the knot. Ricky and Betty Jane Barrett have an anniversary the 23rd. Happy anniversary to both couples.
