Auburntown Lions Planning Large Easter Egg Hunt

The Auburntown City Council met Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. for their regular monthly meeting. The mayor and all councilpersons were present except Beth Hancock.

The minutes of the previous month of February were passed out for review. After a short moment of review the minutes were approved as presented by the City Recorder.

The financial statement ending February 29, 2012 was submitted for review. Following a few remarks of explanation the statement was approved as presented.

The Lions Club of Auburntown is sponsoring the Community Easter Egg Hunt again the year. They are formulating plans to make it the biggest one yet. They have enlisted some commercial sponsors, other than themselves, to help make it so. This is a project the city can well appreciate as the community comes together for a day the kids will long remember.  

The Coordinator of “Red Apple Day”, Tina Fletcher, reported that things have slowed during the winter months, however, all plans are still set on “Go” for a active one this summer.  She can be reached at phone (615) 692-2845.

The Mayor asked the council to keep in mind the items they would like given special consideration in the 2012/13 budget. He will be making an amended one in the near future.   

Misters Ethan Bryson and Jordan Turney monitored this session as a US Government class assignment from Mr. Freddie Curtis’ Class at Cannon County High School.    

The session ended at approximately 6:30 p.m.
